Instructions

    • 1

Dampen a towel with water and toss it in the dryer with the T-shirt for 10 to 15 minutes. Alternatively, dampen the shirt with water before you place it into the dryer.

    • 2

Hang the T-shirt on the shower curtain rack for at least 10 to 15 minutes while you're in the shower. The combination of the steam and humidity will help release the wrinkles.

    • 3

Wet the wrinkled areas of the T-shirt. Turn the hair dryer on the medium or high setting and blow dry it. Pull the fabric downward or smooth with your hand as you blow dry each section.

    • 4

Add one cup of water and one tsp. of liquid fabric softener to a spray bottle. Spray the T-shirt with the mixture and allow it to either air-dry on a flat surface or use a blow dryer to speed up the drying time.

    • 5

Iron it. Set the iron's heat level to medium or high or choose the setting that matches the T-shirt's material. Smooth the T-shirt out over the ironing board or other flat surface. Lightly mist the T-shirt with water from a spray bottle and iron it quickly. Avoid leaving the iron in one spot for more than two or three seconds, as you might burn it.

Tips & Warnings

  • Depending on the particular iron, you can also add water to the iron's reservoir to use its steam feature.

  • When traveling, unpack your clothing items and hang them up as soon as possible.

  • To avoid wrinkles, fold or hang your T-shirts and other clothes as soon as they come out of the dryer.

  • If the shirt contains raised designs or objects hanging from it such as beads or jewelry, iron the T-shirt inside out. Otherwise, you might permanently damage the T-shirt.

  • Use distilled water to prevent mineral buildup in the iron reservoir, as it can cause the iron to spill rusty water onto your clothing items.
