How to Enable Full Screen on a Mac

You can take up the whole screen with a single application by enabling the full-screen feature in your Mac's operating system. A full-screen app removes distractions by filling the entire screen with the application's interface. The full-screen function is built into the Mac OS X Lion operating system and is native to a number of the Apple applications included on your computer, such as PhotoBooth, Garageband and iPhoto.

Instructions

    • 1

Open an application such as iPhoto or PhotoBooth that supports full-screen mode.

    • 2

Click the double-sided arrow in the upper right corner of the application's interface to enable the full-screen mode.

    • 3

Point your cursor to the upper right corner and click the double-sided arrow to exit the full-screen mode.

    • 4

Turn on the full-screen mode while viewing video files by clicking the double-sided arrow on the control panel.
