How to Create Return Buttons in PowerPoint

If you use Action buttons in your Microsoft PowerPoint 98 or PowerPoint 2000 presentations, you will want to create Return buttons, so you can return to the slide where you first clicked the Action button and continue viewing the presentation.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Go to the View menu and select Slide or Normal.

  2. Step 2

    Go to the Drawing toolbar and select AutoShapes.

  3. Step 3

    Select Action Buttons in the AutoShapes drop-down menu.

  4. Step 4

    Select the Return button (Windows) or Last Slide Viewed button (Mac OS).

  5. Step 5

    Drag to create a small rectangle on the slide where you want to place the Return button.

  6. Step 6

    Click OK, then resize the button by dragging its handles, if needed. Double-click the button or right-click it and click Format AutoShapes to choose colors and other button options.
