How to Make a Heading in Open Office
With OpenOffice Writer you can create headings in your documents that contain important information you want on the top of the page. You have access to the full range of OpenOffice's editing and formatting tools in your headings so you can make them look however you want.

Open a new or existing document in OpenOffice Writer.

Click the "Insert" menu.

Click "Header" and you will see a list of styles in your document. On a new document you will only see "Default." Click a style. For example, click "Default" or "First Page." A small text box instantly appears above the main text box for your document.
