How to Applique Overalls
Applique designs add an adorable finishing touch to a child’s pair of overalls, and specialty boutiques charge a pretty penny for their originality. Create your own applique overalls beginning with a design that your little one will love. Applique is a combination of simple cutting, ironing and sewing. Your imagination is the only limit when it comes to layers of texture and additional embellishments for your little one’s new favorite overalls.

-
-
3
Lay the overalls right side down onto the fabric of your choice. Trace around the bib portion of the overalls with a pencil, down to the waist.
-
4
Pin the fabric to the overalls, folding under the rough edges. Sew the fabric to the overalls using a sewing machine.
-
5
Cut out a piece of fabric that is slightly larger than your applique design. Cut a piece of adhesive tape slightly smaller than the fabric and press it onto the wrong side of the fabric with an iron.
-
6
Spray the front of the applique design with temporary spray adhesive. Place it onto the right side of the piece of fabric. Cut around the design with a pair of fabric scissors.
-
7
Peel the paper design off the fabric. Position the design on the overall bib where you want it. Press it with a hot iron to melt the adhesive tape, attaching the design to the bib.
-
8
Sew a zigzag stitch around the applique with a sewing machine.
