How to Cuff Women's Jeans
Jeans are arguably the greatest annoyance in shopping for women's clothing. Most women have experienced this problem: if they fit in the hips, they're either too long or too short, and if the length is right, then they're strangling your thighs or they're falling right off. Professional tailoring is expensive and time-consuming, so save yourself the money and hassle by cuffing your own jeans. Try out this project on full-length jeans or chop them first into shorts for a cool summer look.

1
Lay your jeans out flat and make sure the bottom seams are even. If you're making shorts, measure out the length you want, adding 2 inches for the cuff. Cut through the front and back.
-
2
Cut a 1-inch triangle out of the outer seam of each leg of the jeans. This keeps the fabric from bunching up when you cuff it.

3
Flip the bottom hem of the jeans (or the cutoff side, if you're making shorts) up and inside-out so that the triangle is inverted. Flip up once more to hide the triangle.
-
4
Stitch along the inner and outer seams of each leg to hold your cuff in place. Because you're going through several layers of thick fabric, it's best to use a thimble to force the needle through.
