DIY Faux Curled Rosewood Wreath
Whether you like the look of faux rosewood or are creating a new way to recycle, make your own faux curled rosewood wreath. Rosewood made of unprocessed wood is expensive and drives up the cost of the project. Use recycled newspaper to give the rosewood a semi-uniform texture yet individualized details. Rosewood wreaths are used to decorate homes year-round.

Wreath Assembly
-
1
Cut the hook off the wire hanger, using tin nips or florist pliers. Bend the wire into a circle, using pliers. Connect the ends of the wire together and glue them, using quick adhesive glue.
-
2
Wrap newspaper around the wire to add thickness to the wreath. Continue until a 2-inch layer of newspaper is wrapped around the wire.
-
-
3
Add one layer of duct tape around the newspaper to hold the newspaper layer in place. Rip 2-by-2-inch pieces of white computer paper. Glue the ripped computer paper around the exterior of the duct tape to create a white exterior for the wreath.

Make a 3-inch swirl pattern from a sheet of newspaper. Using your marker, start at a point in the center of the newspaper sheet and draw a swirl from the center of the sheet to the edge, similar to creating a puzzle maze. The width of the strip (as the path of the puzzle) should be 3 inches wide.
-
5
Cut out the 3-inch newspaper strip. Cut along the lines in the swirl pattern, using scissors. Take the outside end of the newspaper swirl and roll the paper inward. Continue until the newspaper is rolled into a shape of a rose bud. When you have rolled the edge of the paper strip into the rosebud shape, glue it to the rest of the bud shape using craft glue. Continue until you make approximately 100 rosewood buds.
-
6
Glue the back of the rosewood buds using hot glue and attach them to the wreath.
-
7
Position the rosewood buds in rows around the wreath. Start with the middle portion of the wreath. Alternate making rows on the inside and outside of the middle row. Continue until you cover the visible surface of the wreath with rosewood buds.
