DIY Eyeglass Chain

It can be frustrating trying to find a pair of reading glasses or sunglasses when you need to use them quickly. Eyeglass chains allow you to hang the glasses around your neck so that they are easily accessible. You can make your own eyeglass chain to suit your taste in color and style, either using beads or without, and keep your glasses at the ready.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut a length of beading wire or nylon rope about 30-inches long.

    • 2

Arrange your beading configuration if you would like to have beads on your eyeglass holder. You can use any beads of your choice for this, with a wide variety being available in craft stores.

    • 3

Pass the end of the beading wire through a crimp bead and eyeglass holder, before passing it back into the crimp bead. Compress the crimp bead with pliers to secure it in place.

    • 4

Thread the bead configuration on to the beading wire.

    • 5

Pass the loose end of the beading wire through a crimp bead and eyeglass holder, before passing it back into the crimp bead. Compress the crimp bead with pliers to secure it in place.

    • 6

Pass the end of the nylon rope through the eyeglass holder loop, if you want to make a plain eyeglass holder with no beads. Form a loop in the nylon cord before the eyeglass holder. Pass the end of the nylon cord through the loop, around the neck and back into the loop. Pull the knot tight. Repeat this at the other end to complete the eyeglass chain.
