Instructions

    • 1

Cut three strings of different-colored embroidery floss to about 30 inches. Line up the three strings evenly on your flat work surface. Tie all three strings together with one knot, 2 inches down from the top of the strings. Separate each strand of string.

    • 2

Take the first string and double knot it around the second string. Then take the first string and double knot it around the third string. Repeat these two steps until you have completed 12 rows of knots, then tie one knot at the end of those rows. Repeat this process 12 times.

    • 3

Take the second string and double knot it around the third string, then double knot the second string around the first string. You are repeating the same actions as before, this time starting with the second string. Repeat until you have completed 12 rows of knots and tie a single knot at the end of each series of knots. Repeat this process 12 times. Do this for the third string also.

    • 4

Repeat Steps 1 through 3 until the bracelet reaches the length you prefer, or until you have only a couple of inches of unused string left. You are now ready to place the bracelet around your wrist or the wrist of your friend. Tie off the remaining strands into a square knot and your bracelet is done.

Tips & Warnings

  • Your bracelet may want to twist as you add knots. Simply tape the knotted portion to your board to keep it lying flat as you work.
