How to Make a Cat Head Band for a Toddler
A Halloween kitty needs a great pair of ears, which are attached to a headband for maximum comfort and stability. The toddler can assist in the construction of the cat headband, which is made from a purchased plastic headband and felt and will not rip or tear during the costume party or while trick and treating. After adding a black shirt and pants and a tail made from a stuffed black tube sock, just some cat makeup will complete the costume.
Things You'll Need
- Black child-sized headband

- Grey felt

1
Cut out two triangles of black felt that measure 6 inches on two sides and 4 inches on one side.
-
2
Fold the 4-inch edge of the felt over 1 inch twice and iron it in place on one triangle. Unfold the felt and glue 1/4 inch of the bottom edge to the back of the triangle with the white glue. You are creating a flat bottom to the ear that can be glued to the headband. Repeat this step on the second triangle.
