DIY Cardboard Kindle Stands
When reading it can sometimes be useful to be able to read hands-free, for example if you are making notes. The Amazon Kindle is an e-reader device that makes it possible to upload books, documents and newspapers for you to read. Constructing a stand for the Kindle can be done with a few pieces of waste cardboard. The finished design folds up easily to save space and allows you to read your Kindle hands-free.

Cut a piece of cardboard 11 inches by 7.5 inches. You can use any type of cardboard you want, but the higher quality you use, the better the stand will look. The dimensions are to allow all sizes of Kindle to fit on the stand.

Place a ruler along the 11-inch side. Make a mark 1 inch from the end and 6 inches from the same end. Fold the cardboard at the 1-inch mark. Fold the cardboard in the opposite direction at the 6-inch mark.

Set the angle you desire for the main bend of the stand. Brace each corner with packing tape to avoid the structure collapsing under weight.

Set the angle for the fold 1-inch from the end, 90 degrees to the main section. Brace the corners with packing tape. Rest the Kindle on this shelf when you want to work hands-free.
