Homemade lipstick doesn't contain the harmful chemicals of store-bought brands.

White lipstick, layered on top of pink lipstick, makes for a very glamorous and fashionable look, whether for a rock concert or for a Halloween party. You can make lipstick for your little ones without putting all the preservatives and chemicals of store-bought lipstick. You will be able to find most of the ingredients in these lipsticks in your refrigerator, and you might even be able to enlist the help of your kids in formulating the lipstick, turning it into a bonding event.

Instructions

  1. Homemade Pink Lipstick

    • 1

Heat the coconut oil, over low heat, for about 1 minute. Add the hibiscus leaves, and allow them to steep for about 5 minutes, or until the oil reaches the pink color that you want.

    • 2

Strain the oil into a small bowl with cheesecloth. Pour the oil back into the pot. Puncture the three vitamin E capsules, and add them to the pot along with the grated cocoa butter.

    • 3

Pour the solution into a small pot appropriate for homemade cosmetics. You can find one at most health food stores. Allow it to harden for up to 3 hours.

    • 4

Test a small amount of the lipstick on a small section of your child's skin, to ensure that he is not allergic.
