How to Eliminate Odor From an Airbrush Tan

How to Eliminate Odor From an Airbrush Tan thumbnail
UVA rays from the sun can damage your skin.

Airbrush tanning is a quick way to give your skin a warm glow even in the winter. The results often look more even than a tan you get from the sun, or from tanning lotion that darkens gradually. If you get an airbrush tan, you will not expose your skin to cancer-causing radiation from the sun. Airbrush tanning solutions, however, can have a strong odor that you can eliminate when you shower. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Shampoo your hair before you eliminate the odor from your airbrush tan. Wet the nylon mesh scrubber, then pour a dime-size amount of face gel onto it. Massage the scrubber to evenly distribute the shower gel over it.

    • 2

Wash your face. Move the scrubber over your face in a circular motion, while your eyes and mouth are closed. Scrub your neck, behind your ears and along your hairline. Rinse your face before you open your eyes. Rinse the shower gel out of the scrubber.

    • 3

Pour a quarter-size amount of body gel onto the scrubber. Wash your upper body, including between your fingers and under your arms. Pour more shower gel onto the scrubber, and wash your lower body. Repeat this process to further reduce odor from your airbrush tan.

    • 4

Turn off the shower, and dry yourself off with the towel. Apply lotion to cover any remaining odor and keep your skin moisturized. Wash your skin with the shower gel for several days, until the odor dissipates completely.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your salon offers airbrush tans in a variety of scents, choose the most lightly scented option.

  • Choose heavily scented shower gel to cover any remaining smell from your tan.

  • Scrub your skin gently, or it could redden, peel or become dry.

  • Wear sunscreen outside, since airbrush tans will not protect your skin from burning in the sun.
