How to Make Felt Tie Scarfs
Scarves made from knitting and crotchet are lovely if you have the time and patience to make one. But crafters that are looking for an easier way to make a scarf that is just as comfortable and cozy as yarn often turn to felt. This soft material is the perfect fabric for keeping the elements at bay during the winter season. A felt tie scarf is also ideal if you want to add a stylish accessory to any outfit.

1
Purchase 1/8 yard each of felt that is patterned and two different, solid colors.
-
2
Cut squares that measure 7 inches in length and width from the felt as follows: Cut six squares from the patterned fleece, three from the solid fleece and two from the other solid fleece.
-
-
3
Cut into one edge of the square so you get a fringe that is 2 inches long and about 3/4 inches wide, starting from one end of the square until you reach the opposite end. Repeat this process on the opposite side of the square. Do the same thing to the rest of the squares.
-
4
Position the square so one fringed end is facing you. Position another square in the same position and place it directly above it.
-
5
Align the fringes on each square to the next. Starting at one end of the squares, tie all the fringes on one square to the next. Repeat this process to tie the rest of the squares to the tied pieces. Alternate the colors of the squares as you work.
