Instructions

    • 1

Apply acetone to a cotton ball and apply directly to the damaged or dirty area. Continue to rub the acetone over the spot until the steam iron melt begins to lift.

    • 2

Pad the area with a clean towel. Apply moderate pressure over the acetone-soaked area without moving the towel. Moderate pressure is enough to lift off most of the iron melt.

    • 3

Read the label on the the dress to determine how much polyester the clothing contains. The percentage of polyester changes the water temperature and cycle you can use on the dress without damaging the fabric.

    • 4

Place the polyester dress in the washer and set according to the direction specified on the label.

    • 5

Remove the clothing from the washer immediately after the wash cycle ends. Set the dryer on a low-heat or delicate setting. Thereafter, remove the dress immediately to prevent wrinkles from setting in. Remove any remaining wrinkles by applying medium heat with a hair dryer.
