How to Make a Tie Wreath
A necktie wreath is an artful way to recycle and display a collection of neckties. Ties are inexpensive and available in a variety of interesting colors and patterns. To create a tie wreath, all you need is a collection of neckties, a wire wreath base and some basic sewing supplies. The finished wreath will add a festive touch to Father’s Day, holiday decorations or to brighten up any area of your home.

1
Select a wire base for your wreath. Wire wreath bases can be purchased from craft stores or created by twisting two wire coat hangers into a circle of the desired size.
-
2
Cut ties into 15 inch lengths. Only the front portion of the ties will be used in the wreath.
-
-
3
Wrap a tie around the wreath base, beginning with the narrow end of the tie facing front side up.
-
4
Continue wrapping the tie around the wreath base until the pointed end of the tie is just above the top of the wreath base.
-
5
Pin the back portion of the tie to the back of the pointed end to disguise the excess. After all the ties are attached, you may sew these portions together for added security.
-
6
Repeat Steps 3 through 5 with each tie until the wreath base is completely covered. Ties may overlap each other as much or as little as you like.
-
7
Hang finished wreath as desired.
