How to Make Transparent Letters in Illustrator
Make transparent letters in Adobe Illustrator, then display them in the program or export them to other Adobe Creative Suite applications. Illustrator's transparency effects allow you to blend transparent letters with any other text or image that sits on a layer below them. These see-through letters may also be layered so that overlapping occurs. Create an Illustrator document with a layer that contains a non-transparent object to appreciate the full effect of transparent letters.
