How to Draw in DesignCAD 3D

DesignCAD 3D provides toolbars that help you get started in making 2D and 3D drawings. You can use the line, box and arc tools to draw the corresponding shapes at any size or color you like. Switching to the 3D workspace view gives you more flexibility in designing the front, top and sides of the drawing. However, some of the other drawing tools, such as the sketch tool, are hidden. Use the sketch tool if you want to do some basic freehand drawing or make certain lines or shapes with greater precision.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the "2D" or "3D" button on the toolbar to choose the type of workspace you wish to draw on.

    • 2

Click "Draw" from the menu bar and go to "Lines." Click "Sketch" to activate the basic drawing tool.

    • 3

Choose a color on the right toolbar to change the line color. Click anywhere on the workspace and drag to draw using the sketch tool.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you do not want to use the menu bar for selecting a tool, you can alternatively click on any of the toolbar icons. Holding down the left mouse mutton while selecting a toolbar item will bring up a menu of other tools you can use to draw.
