How to Make Leaves or Petals With a Circle Punch
Make a garden full of flowers or a tree-filled back yard for your next card or scrapbook project with a circle punch. The versatile circle punch is available in several sizes, all of which can be used to make leaves and petals. Circle punches will cut through any type of crafting paper, including vellum, textured paper and heavy card stock.

Select the craft paper to use for your petals.

Punch out a circle.

Shake out the circle and throw it away or add it to your scraps pile.

Flip your circle punch upside down so that you can see the cutting mechanism.

Punch out small crescent-moon-shaped C's from the cut-out circle until you have 6 to 12 petals.

Glue the petals in a circle around an embellished center to create your flowers.

Select the craft paper to use for your leaves.

Use the circle punch to cut out a circle from each sheet of paper.

Flip the circle punch upside down so that you can see the cutting mechanism.

Insert one-third of the circle you cut out into the punch.

Cut out an oval-shaped leaf by applying light pressure to your punch.

Tips & Warnings
Use a sturdy, flat surface to punch out shapes.
Stamp or emboss the leaves to add dimension.
Use different sizes of circle punches to add depth.
Smaller punches can be used for flower leaves, and bigger punches can make tree leaves.
