How to Display Vintage Hats & Gloves
When showing off accessories in a shop, it’s important to create an eye-catching display to get the attention of the shopper. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Choose an area where sunlight will not shine directly on the items, as this can cause them to fade, particularly older accessories.
-
2
Select a background that will not clash with the items you are displaying.
-
-
3
Place hats on head forms. Make sure they are not too high, so that everyone will be able to reach them.
-
4
Add vintage pieces such as scarves and pearl necklaces to complete the vintage look, but make sure they complement the hat.
-
5
Hang gloves from a rack and intersperse them with vintage silk scarves, vintage leather or snakeskin belts, and costume jewelry such as brooches and drip clip-on earrings. You can also hang gloves from the same rack as shoes and handbags, but make sure there is a matching theme — for instance pear-black crocodile skin gloves with shoes and/or handbags made from the same material.
-
6
Position a lamp so that it shines over the items, making them stand out.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure there is a large mirror near the hats so that customers can try them on. As people are likely to try them on and leave them in the wrong place, make a point of keeping the hats tidy throughout the day.
