How to Fix an Aluminum Blind Slat
Aluminum blind slats are low maintenance, but they can easily become bent. Fixing an aluminum slat blind involves restoring it to its original shape. Unfortunately, aluminum slats will not return to their original shape completely once you bend them out of place, but you can get them as close as possible. Repairing the blind slats is not difficult, and can be done with simple tools. Once you repair the blinds as much as possible, be careful when cleaning so you do not bend them again. 1
Pull the blinds out of the bracket holding them onto the wall. Lay the blinds on a flat surface so the front faces you.
-
2
Roll a smooth, hard ball over the damaged slat, if the slat is flat. If it is curved, press a 3/4 inch dowel that is the same length or longer than the slat into the back of the slat, so the damaged slat covers the dowel.

3
Continue rolling the ball over the damaged portion until it will no longer flatten further. For the curved slats, apply steady, heavy pressure to the slat over the dowel until it will no longer change shape back to the way it was curved.
-
4
Replace the blinds in the brackets on the wall.
