How to Decorate a Dance Floor at a Reception for a Butterfly Themed Wedding
A butterfly-themed wedding opens up many unique possibilities for decorations at the reception -- including for the dance floor. Although the dance floor is a large, open space that people will be using, it can still be adorned in creative ways to add to the special day, particularly using the deejay's table, the ceiling and the walls. It can be personalized with anything from a floor decal with the couple's names to an aquarium with the bride's favorite butterflies.

1
Place a personalized butterfly decal on the dance floor. They come in various sizes and can include the names of the newlywed couple, the date and various butterfly designs.
-
2
Set up a butterfly aquarium in the corner of the dance floor. Fill it full of live butterflies right before the ceremony. This will add a creative and unique touch to the decor. Make sure it is out of the way of people dancing and on a firm surface.

Attach butterfly decorations to the deejay's table cloth. They can be as simple as being made out construction paper or pipe cleaners, or include more complex ornaments.
-
4
Give the guests confetti butterflies to throw over the bride and groom while they dance. This will add a nice sparkle to both the couple and the floor.
-
5
Suspend butterfly decorations from the ceiling, if possible. Have them hanging down over the dance floor at variable lengths. They can be suspended with fishing line to add a textured appearance over the dance floor.
