How to Create a Fringe Baby Blanket

It is easy to make a fringe blanket.

Making a fringe blanket is an easy project for anyone, even if you do not know how to sew. A fringe blanket can be made without picking up a needle and thread, and a handmade baby blanket makes a personalized and inexpensive gift.

Things You'll Need

• 3 yards, approximately, of fleece
• Measuring tape
• Scissors

Instructions

1. Cut fleece into 2 individual squares that measure 1 to 1 1/2 yards each. The same color or design of fleece can be used for both squares, or the squares can be two different colors or designs. Make sure the edges of the fleece are cut straight and the ends are not frayed.

2. Place the squares on top of each other. Make sure the printed sides, or outsides of the fabric, are facing each other.

3. Cut out a 4-by-4-inch square from each corner of the blanket.

4. Cut tabs that are 4 inches long and 1 inch wide from the edges of the blanket. Leave a 1-inch space between each tab.

5. Tie the tabs together by using an overhand knot. Make sure to tie each tab around the edge of the blanket.
