Instructions

    • 1

Measure from the crown of the child’s head down to where the veil will stop using the measuring tape. Also measure the width of the child’s shoulders across her back, from one end to the other, to determine how wide you want the veil to be. Add a few inches to this number to compensate for gathering the tulle.

    • 2

Fold the tulle in half lengthwise and lay it out on the floor or a large table. Place heavy objects on top of it, such as a coffee mug or paperweights, to hold it down flat. Use the scissors to cut both layers of the tulle from top to bottom according to the child’s measured length and cut the tulle from right to left for the width.

    • 3

Thread the needle with approximately 2 feet of white thread and knot the ends of the thread to secure it. Holding both layers of tulle, fold over the top edges by an amount that is 1/2-inch wider than the headband. Sew a straight running stitch through both layers across the width of the tulle to create a casing for the headband to fit through. When sewing, remember to backstitch at the beginning and the end to secure the stitching.

    • 4

Insert the headband into one side of the casing opening of the tulle material, and carefully slide the headband all the way through the casing. Once all of the tulle is gathered onto the headband, scrunch the material together at the top of the headband.

    • 5

Prepare the hot glue gun and glue stick for use, then add a strip of glue across the top of the headband from one end to the other, also covering the tulle that’s on the headband.

    • 6

Attach the white beaded ribbon across the top of the glue strip on the headband. Press down firmly on the ribbon to secure it to the headband. Use the scissors to cut any excess ribbon from the edges of the headband. The beaded ribbon will add a pearl look to the veil.

    • 7

Allow at least five minutes for the glue to dry completely. After the glue has dried, place the finished veil on top of the child’s head and fluff it to create an elegant and enchanting make-believe bride.

Tips & Warnings

  • Glue will be hot, use with caution.
