DIY Fabric Flower Applique
Fabric flower appliques are extremely versatile. You can use appliques on fabrics, in clothing, blankets, quilts and other fabric crafting projects. Some flower appliqués come premade, with finished edges and an easy-to-apply iron-on backing. However, it is just as straightforward and more versatile to make your own fabric flower appliqués for crafting purposes. Depending on how you want to use the flower, use iron-on interfacing or a cloth interfacing for the back of the appliqué.
Instructions

1
Draw the flower shape that you want onto the fabric. You can make one solid shape or cut out individual petals. Make each flower about 1 inch larger than the desired finished design to allow room for the seam.
-
2
Cut out the flowers. Cut a piece of interfacing the same shape as the flower.
-
-
3
Face the right sides of the flower and interfacing together. Sew the interfacing to the flower using a 1/4-inch seam allowance. Leave a small opening in the seam.
-
4
Turn the flower right side out. Stitch the opening closed.
-
5
Iron the fabric to the interfacing to make one solid piece. Sew or glue the appliqué to the desired craft.
