Instructions

    • 1

Measure and cut the crepe paper into 20-inch squares.

    • 2

Lay four sheets of crepe paper on top of each other. They can all be the same color or different colors for a brighter centerpiece.

    • 3

Concertina the crepe paper by making folds that are 1 1/2 inches wide. Start by folding the bottom 1 1/2 inches up. Turn the paper over and fold the bottom 1 1/2 inches up. Keep turning the paper and folding the bottom 1 1/2 inches up fold until the whole sheet of paper is folded like an accordian.

    • 4

Wrap a pipe cleaner around the middle of the concertinaed paper and secure.

    • 5

Pull the sheets gently away from each other, forming the petals as you do so. Arrange the paper so that it forms a large crepe paper cabbage rose.

Tips & Warnings

  • Stick the cabbage roses onto Styrofoam cones, place in a vase or simple lay on the table for the centerpiece. Make several roses and arrange in a vase for a larger centerpiece.

  • Use the pipe cleaners to wrap the roses around napkins to make unique napkin rings.
