An engagement party is usually hosted by the couple or family members to officially announce and celebrate the couple's intention to get married. There are various things that need to be decorated in an engagement party, such as tables, chairs and buffets. Decorations transform an occasion, changing it to a festive mood. Decorations for an engagement party can be made without incurring huge expenses.

Instructions

1. Choose the tablecloth, placemats and napkins that meet your color desires. Ensure that the colors don't clash between the items. Though the colors don't have to be the same, the tablecloth should match with the placemats and the napkins. Use a romantic look, such as the red, black and white. Use white candleholders topped with red candles. Let the decorations create a romantic and party mood environment.

2. Create an attractive centerpiece in each table. The centerpiece shouldn't be so too tall that it prevents guests at the same table from seeing each other clearly. A simple centerpiece can include a basket of flowers or a bowl of fruit.

3. Set the table neatly by arranging the plates, silverware and glasses in an orderly manner. Arrange the silver in the order of the meals to be served. Put salad forks on one side and soup spoons on the other.

4. Buy place cards or create your own. Write the names of your guests on the place cards. Add some meaningful decorations on the place cards. Place the cards according to how you want your guests to be seated.
