How to Close Skype on Evo

Closing the Skype app doesn't remove it from your Evo.

By properly closing the Skype application on your HTC Evo smartphone, you can prevent the application from draining your battery. If Skype isn't closed properly, it may continue to run in the background, which uses your phone's resources. When you close Skype, unless you're signed in at another location, callers will receive a message that you're unavailable. If voice mail is enabled, callers can leave a message. When you access Skype again after closing the app, you need to sign in again.

Instructions

1. Touch “Menu” while viewing the home screen of the Evo.

2. Touch “Settings,” and then touch “Applications.”

3. Touch “Running Services,” and then touch “Skype.” If it's not listed, it's not currently running.

4. Touch “Stop” to close the application. The app disappears from the list of currently running services.
