How to Use a Tassel Tieback
A tassel tieback is a confusing-looking contraption consisting of two large loops of cord knotted together with tassels hanging from the knot. When the tieback is properly installed, it looks like a double loop of tasseled cord that has been knotted around the curtains to hold them back and let in the light. In reality, the tieback hangs from a hidden cup hook and it is easy to unhook one side and allow the curtains to close. Does this Spark an idea?

Tie a string around the curtains and move it up and down to determine the best height for the tieback. If you have curtains on both sides of the windows, tie both curtains.
-
2
Mark the height of the string on the inside of the window frame with a pencil. Make the mark 1 inch back from the front edge of the frame.
-
-
3
Drill a a small hole at each mark and screw in a cup hook.
-
4
Hook one large loop on the cup hook.
-
5
Wrap the other loop around the curtain so that the tassels hang down near the inside edge of the curtain.
-
6
Hang the other loop on the same cup hook.
-
7
Adjust the curtain so that the lining does not show and the gathers are even. If you have a panel on the other side, hang the other tieback in the same way.
