How to Get Honey Out of the Comb That Is Already in a Jar
Honey is removed from honeycombs after they are put through large mechanical extractors. If you purchase in-comb honey from your local grocery store or farmer’s market, you may notice that that comb contains a significant amount of honey, even after you have used the rest of the honey in the jar. Extracting the last bit of honey out of the comb without ruining the honey is a tricky process, but it's possible to rescue the remaining honey without sacrificing its taste. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Place a clean cookie sheet on a table or other flat surface.
-
2
Hold your honeycomb up on the cookie sheet, propping it up at about a 60-degree angle.
-
-
3
Warm your knife in a cup of warm water. A warm knife is easier to push into wax.
-
4
Remove the wax caps of each honeycomb section by gently cutting them out with your knife.
-
5
Force the honey out of each chamber and down the comb with the back of a clean spoon. Be careful not to smash wax into the honey.
-
6
Pour the honey into an empty jar through cheesecloth. The cheesecloth stops wax and debris from the comb from entering the jar. Throw the comb away and put a lid on the freshly extracted honey.
