How to Draw or Add Text in MS Paint

Microsoft Paint is a lightweight graphic image editor that is installed by default on all Windows operating systems. You can create and edit images in Microsoft Paint. You can draw using the drawing tools, and you can add text in Paint using the “Text” tool. Once you have created your graphic in Paint, you can save the file as a bitmap (BMP), a JPEG (JPG), a Portable Network Graphic (PNG) or several other graphic file types.

      Open Microsoft Paint. A blank image canvas opens.

      Click the “Text” tool in the top navigation ribbon. The "Text" tool is the button with the “A” graphic.

      Click inside the blank canvas and type some text characters.

      Click the “Home” tab on the top navigation bar, and then click the “Pencil” or “Pen” tool.

      Click inside the canvas and drag the cursor to draw with the tool.

      Click the “Paint” option on the top navigation bar and then click “Save As.” Click the “Save as Type” drop-down box and then click the desired file type to save the graphic. Click the “Save” button.
