How to Dissolve Furniture Glue

Spilled glue is easy to clean if you have the right ingredients.

"Furniture glue" is typically a simple yellow wood glue used to secure two wooden portions of the same piece of furniture together. This glue is usually water-soluble and can be dissolved quite easily if you need to remove the pieces from each other. It is also handy to be able to dissolve the glue if you accidentally spill it while working on your own home improvement projects.

Things You'll Need

• White vinegar
• Cloth rag

Instructions

1. Soak a cloth rag with white vinegar.

2. Apply the white vinegar to the glue you wish to dissolve.

3. Wait 15 minutes for the vinegar to soak into the glue.

4. Wipe the dissolved mess away from the wood with a cloth rag.

Tips & Warnings

• Warming the vinegar in the microwave may help increase the efficiency with which it dissolves the glue.
