How to Decorate an Aisle Runner for a Wedding With a Monogram
Add a splash of color and style to the aisle runner at your wedding with a custom-designed monogram. Your imagination is the limit when you design your personal monogram, so make it as whimsical or formal as you want. Whether you place it near the altar or at the entrance of the wedding venue, where you place the monogram is completely up to you. After the big day, you can use a portion of the aisle runner as a table runner in your new home.

1
Design your monogram by hand or on your computer. Enlarge the monogram to the size that you want for the aisle runner, approximately three pages by three pages.
-
2
Tape the monogram pages together. Decide where you want to paint the monogram on the runner — as an example, 10 feet from the end. Place the monogram underneath the aisle runner on a hard surface such as the floor or a table and tape it down. Trace the monogram onto the runner with pencil.

3
Remove the tape and paper. Place wax paper underneath the runner to prevent paint from bleeding through it. Tape the wax paper to the table to secure it in place. Paint the monogram and any additional designs on the runner. Allow the paint to dry completely.
-
4
Draw along the outline of the monogram with a gold or black paint pen. Allow the paint to dry completely.
-
5
Cut two pieces of ribbon the length of the aisle runner. Attach the ribbon along the edges of the runner with tacky tape designed for fabric.
