How to Weave a Shawl
A shawl is a thick piece of fabric that can be wrapped around you for warmth or style. While shawls can be purchased from stores, nothing can match the experience of hand weaving your own shawl. Learning how to weave a shawl will provide you with an entertaining, useful, and potentially profitable hobby that will keep you entertained for years to come.

Determine the amount of weft yarn and warp that you will need for the project. A yarn length of 500 yards should be enough for any shawl project.

Weave scrap yarn through the loom to create a weft yarn header to ensure that the threads are straight and even in the shawl.

Pull the loom heddle toward you to the start of the fabric to push the yarn into position.

Make a second shed, then pull the weft header yarn through to the other side of the loom heddle

Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the fabric is even.

Weave the yarn onto the shuttle so that you can effortless thread the yarn through the vertical lines in the loom. Alternate above and then below, and be sure to cross the length of the loom threads twice.

Pull the heddle back into position to lock the threads into place. Repeat steps 6 and 7 until the shawl is completed.
