Whitewash is a type of paint made from lime (calcium hydroxide), whiting chalk and a few other additives. Whitewash is often applied to windows as decoration, to provide seasonal shade or to prevent birds from accidentally flying into windows during migration season.   • Large container
  • Liquid detergent soap
  • White vinegar
  • Sponge
  • Hose

Instructions

      Mix a soap solution of 1 quart water, 1 tablespoon liquid detergent soap and 1 tablespoon white vinegar in a large container.

      Dip the sponge in the soap solution and scrub the whitewash away.

    • 3

      Rinse the windows with a fresh sponge and clean water. Or simply spray them down with a hose.
