How to Make a Moss Sphere
While an indoor atmosphere can be kept pristine, it can also feel sterile and cold. Bring a little of nature's beauty indoors by making a sphere of natural, green moss. Whether decorating a formal dining room sideboard or adding some greenery to a Christmas theme, a green moss sphere is an economical, yet beautiful, craft. Spruce up your space with a beautiful bit of green moss.
Things You'll Need
- 6-inch Styrofoam ball
- White craft glue

1
Cover and protect your work surface with old newspapers or plastic lining. Set the foam ball in the middle of the work surface. Take the moss out of the bag. Separate each section of moss. Flatten the pieces slightly between the palms of your hands to prepare them for gluing.

2
Squeeze a generous amount of thick, craft glue over half of the surface of the ball. Rub the glue around with your hand or a foam paintbrush. Quickly but thoroughly, wash your hands. Push pieces of the moss into the glue. Think of the moss as puzzle pieces. Match the shape of each piece to fit into empty spaces on the ball. Allow 12 hours for the glue to dry. Repeat the process with the other half of the moss ball.

Fill any thin or bare spaces with a dab of glue and a small section of moss. Gently pull on each piece of moss and add more glue as needed. Allow an additional 12 hours of drying time before setting it out as decoration or wrapping it to give as a gift.
