How to Add a Horizontal Line to a Web Page Using Netscape Composer

Use a horizontal line (or rule) to divide sections on a Web page. It's easy with Netscape Composer, a free, easy-to-use Web design program included in the Netscape Communicator package.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Netscape Composer
  1. Step 1

    Start Netscape Composer and choose Open from the File menu. Locate the page and double-click to open it.

  2. Step 2

    Open the Insert menu and choose Horizontal Line, or click on the H. Line button on the toolbar.

  3. Step 3

    Double-click on the line that appears, or right-click and select Horizontal Line Properties, to change the line properties (thickness, style and so on).

  4. Step 4

    Drag the line to where you want to place it. To extend or shrink the line, select it and then drag one of the handles that appear.

  5. Step 5

    Save the file and click on the Preview button to view the file in the Netscape Navigator browser.

Tips & Warnings
  • Checking the 3D Shading box in the Horizontal Line Properties dialog box will make the flat line appear to have depth.
