How to Migrate From Salesforce to SugarCRM

Customer relationship management, or CRM, software is playing an increasingly important part in the way that modern businesses operate, both big and small. Salesforce and SugarCRM are two prominent web-based CRM software platforms that allow companies to track customer information, sales leads, report on project status, and access analytics about the effectiveness of your company's salesforce and support teams.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your instance of Salesforce using a username and password which are assigned administrative credentials. This will ensure that you won't encounter any permissions-related issues as you move on to export the data out of Salesforce.

    • 2

Click on the "Administration" link in Salesforce and then locate the "Data Export" link. Click on that link to begin exporting the Salesforce data.

    • 3

Select "CSV" as the file format to which the Salesforce data should be saved and then click on "Export" to begin exporting the data and automatically generate a CSV file that contains the Salesforce data.

    • 4

Log in to SugarCRM using credentials that also have administrative privileges to modify files and upload new data.

    • 5

Click on the "Administrative" link in SugarCRM and then locate the link named "Data Import/Export". Click on "Data Import" and then click on "Browse" to bring up a dialog box where you can locate the CSV file which you've exported out of Salesforce.

    • 6

Double-click on the CSV file to load it and begin automatically importing the Salesforce data into SugarCRM. Allow the transfer to fully complete before disconnecting from the internet or quitting SugarCRM. Any interruptions during data imports can lead to incomplete data and potentially corrupt data after it's been transferred into SugarCRM.
