Re-size your PM View's images to maintain proper proportion.

All computer monitors operate at an ideal resolution. Since modern monitors are typically fixed in resolution based on horizontal and vertical pixel count, any deviation from this results in an image too large or small, or distorted in shape. In any case, it is necessary to re-size the image on the PC's monitor. The View PM image editing software has internal provisions to make these modifications, addressing this very issue.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the submenu on the programs desktop labeled "Transform."

    • 2

Look for the "Size" subheader inside the "Transform" menu. Locate the type of adjustment you would like to make.

    • 3

Select "Letter/Pillar Box" to maintain the proper image proportion by having the program add or remove top and bottom or side bars. The process is similar to what digital television sources do to maintain proper image geometry when the picture does not fill the entire screen.

    • 4

Choose the "Keep Proportional" option during the re-size process to ensure that proper geometry is maintained. This prevents circles from becoming ovals, or square objects from becoming rectangular. You may un-check this option if you wish to manually re-size the image.

    • 5

Check "Resample Pixels" to maintain picture fidelity. Converting the video file to RGB deep color, this option allows the clearest image by preventing dropping of picture elements to allow image re-sizing.
