How to Decorate a Bedroom With All White Bedding

An all-white bedroom can feel airy, light and clean.

As your bedroom is a sanctuary -- the place you go to wind down and relax -- selecting white bedding makes sense. All-white bedding is anything but boring. White is associated with cleanliness, luxury and purity. While many homeowners select bedding in rich colors, multiple patterns and rich textures, by choosing all-white bedding, you draw attention to its lack of adornment, creating a sense of surprise. You have the opportunity to include another focal point in the same space without overwhelming the eye.

1. Add a dramatic color to the space. Because your bed takes up a large portion of the room visually, you may need to counteract the expanse of neutrality created by all-white bedding through the use of colorful walls or brightly colored accent pieces. 3. Liven up your room through the incorporation of prints. Printed throws and pillows will keep your bedding from looking too plain and lacking in decorative touches. In many bedrooms, the bedding is the center of attention, but white bedding will help you balance an elaborate tapestry or patterned carpeting, keeping either one from overwhelming the space. This will help a treasured piece, such as a framed heirloom quilt, stand out within the room.

4. Keep your space looking sleek by sticking to a restricted palette. Black and white colors are a classic combination and offer a visually arresting contrast. The combination subtly implies sophistication and manages to look both modern and retro at the same time. Toward one extreme, an all-white room can soothe your mind and provide you a calm, meditative resting place.
