How to Clean Wood Panelling
Wood-paneled walls provide a warm, rustic look to any home. Paneling is often used as an alternative to painting or wallpaper because of its low cost, ease of installation and ability to transform the look of any room. Wood paneling requires little maintenance to keep it clean and glowing. Use mild detergent or oil soap to remove dirt, dust or residue and to restore the appearance of wood paneling. Things You'll Need
- Microfiber cloth
- Vacuum with brush attachment
- Bucket
- Dish detergent
- Oil soap
- Cloths
- Towel

Wipe the wood paneling with a dry microfiber cloth to remove dust or loose debris. You can also use a vacuum with a brush attachment.

Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of warm water. Add 1/4 cup of oil soap or 3 teaspoons of dish detergent to the water.

Dip a cloth into the bucket, and wring it out. Wipe the paneling with the cloth, starting at the bottom and working your way up. Use a circular motion, and work with one small section at a time. Rinse the cloth in the bucket as needed.

Empty the bucket, and rinse it out. Fill it with clean, warm water.

Dip a clean cloth into the bucket, and wring it out. Wipe the paneling using the same method you used to clean to rinse away soap residue.

Dry the paneling with a towel.

Tips & Warnings
Don't use harsh abrasives to clean wood paneling.
