How to Decorate a Mug With Heart Foam Stickers
Mugs have a place anywhere you might sit and enjoy a beverage, including your kitchen, office or your travel luggage. They are often used to make a statement that can be humorous or romantic or to display school pride. Accessories like foam hearts allow you to deck out a plain mug and offer it as a gift to a special someone. The application of the hearts doesn't take long, and simple placement techniques offer a professional aesthetic for a charming gift.
Things You'll Need
- 1-inch foam sticker heart pack, assorted colors
- 2-inch foam sticker heart pack, assorted colors
- 3-inch foam sticker heart pack, assorted colors
- 1/2-inch ribbon spool, any color
- Scissors

Determine where on the mug you want to place the hearts. Pick strategic points that are evenly spaced to make the hearts stand out on the mug's surface. Use shapes to make a statement. For example, arrange five hearts in a row or four hearts in a diamond across the front of the mug.

Remove the adhesive backing from a 3-inch foam sticker and place it on the desired location on the mug's surface. Repeat this step to add the number of hearts where you want them.

Take the adhesive backing off of a 2-inch heart and then place it in the center of one of the 3-inch hearts. This creates a new dimension to the original heart. Continue adding 2-inch hearts to the center of the other 3-inch hearts you placed on the mug.

Pull ribbon from the spool and wrap it around the circumference of the mug twice to measure a useful length. Cut the ribbon from the spool. Hold the ends of the ribbon around the mug and tie the strands into a bow.

Remove the adhesive backing from four 1-inch foam stickers and adhere them on top of the ribbon to hold it in place on the mug. Space the foam stickers an inch or more apart. Arrange a pair of stickers on either side of the mug.
