Compact and lightweight, air sleeping mattresses and pads are ideal for camping.

The Therm-a-Rest mattress is a portable air mattress designed for camping and outdoor trips. It is technically referred to as a "sleep pad" as it is thinner and smaller than a traditional air mattress. Inflation can be done with your mouth so there is no need for a pump. Deflating the pad is just as simple and, when done properly, ensures the pad can be rolled up to its smallest size without being damaged. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the air valve on the bottom edge of the mattress on the top side.

    • 2

Twist open the valve until you hear or feel air coming out.

    • 3

Go to the other end of the mattress. Use your hands to slowly roll up the mattress, moving toward the end with the valve.

    • 4

Gently push and squeeze the mattress as you roll it up.

    • 5

Unroll it when you reach the valve end and repeat steps 3 and 4 multiple times until the mattress is fully deflated.

Tips & Warnings

  • Keep the mattress away from sharp objects such as sticks, rocks and cutlery. Do not roll the mattress up from the valve end first as this could bend or damage the valve.
