Navigate the iPod classic with the device's click wheel.

An iPod classic, like all other iPods, is run by software and as a result is subject to technical problems, such as freezing. A frozen iPod classic is unresponsive. The problem can occur due to a glitch in the software or an external issue such as high temperatures. Although it may seem like a serious problem, Apple has provided users with a method to unfreeze the device a few steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Slide the "Hold" switch on the top of the device to the right.

    • 2

Slide the switch to the left back to the original position.

    • 3

Press the "Menu" and "Center" buttons on the front of the iPod classic simultaneously and hold them.

    • 4

Release the buttons when the Apple logo appears on the screen. It takes approximately six seconds for the logo to appear. The device automatically restarts and you can resume operation.
