How to Get an iPod Classic Unfrozen
An iPod classic, like all other iPods, is run by software and as a result is subject to technical problems, such as freezing. A frozen iPod classic is unresponsive. The problem can occur due to a glitch in the software or an external issue such as high temperatures. Although it may seem like a serious problem, Apple has provided users with a method to unfreeze the device a few steps.

Slide the "Hold" switch on the top of the device to the right.

Slide the switch to the left back to the original position.

Press the "Menu" and "Center" buttons on the front of the iPod classic simultaneously and hold them.

Release the buttons when the Apple logo appears on the screen. It takes approximately six seconds for the logo to appear. The device automatically restarts and you can resume operation.
