How to Arrange Three Chairs and a Couch
When you purchase a new home or rent an apartment, you may not be thinking about the furniture arrangement. When you start moving your furniture in, you may realize that you have no idea how to work around that particular floor plan: From an oddly located fireplace to multiple entrances into the living room. If you have three chairs and a sofa, you may find a challenge in arranging them all appropriately. Does this Spark an idea?

Place the couch in the center of the room, facing the focal point. This can be a fireplace, television or even a great view.

Position one chair on either side of the couch, facing the middle of the area between the couch and the room's focal point. Each chair should be two to three feet from the couch and the focal point.

Locate the third chair in a corner behind the couch, with a floor lamp next to it. This space can be used as a reading area, set off from the rest of the room.

Tips & Warnings
You can place a coffee table in front of the sofa, long enough for the chairs to access as well. This will connect the three pieces. You can also place an area rug under the reading chair to add color and to separate that space from the rest of the room.
