How to Get Your Son to Chew Better
Food that is not chewed properly can lead to the buildup of gas and result in less nutrients being absorbed by the body. Chewing foods properly can help the digestion process and reduce the chances of choking on large pieces of food. Kids, especially boys, may not completely or properly chew their food because they are in a hurry to get back to playing.

1
Talk to your son about why he should completely chew his food. Explain the dangers of malnutrition and choking that can result from not chewing his food properly.
-
2
Discuss the need for him to take his time while eating. Tell him there is no need to rush and he must sit at the table for a specific amount of time to ensure he properly chews his food.

3
Demonstrate how to chew food properly by taking a bit of food and chewing it in front of him. Ask him to repeat what you did and show you how to properly chew his food.
