Switch to a larger needle, reduce the thread tension or re-thread the machine if the upper thread breaks while you’re using the machine.

Re-thread the bobbin and case and reduce the tension on the lower thread if it breaks during use. Reduce the tension on the bobbin case by turning it's small screw counterclockwise to loosen and clockwise to tighten.

Shorten the stitch length, switch to a finer needle and reduce the thread tension if the seams of the material you’re working on gather or pucker.

Lubricate the machine according to the directions of your specific model, replace the needle you’re using and remove any debris or dirt on the hook if the machine is noisy while running.

Inspect the threading and bobbin case to ensure they are intact if the stitching is loose. Adjust the thread tension and try changing the needle if the thread and bobbin are still good.
