How to Make a Cool Loop Friendship Bracelet

When creating cool loop friendship bracelets, use colors to represent your favorite sports team, your school colors, or colors you like mixing together. This pattern is easy for a beginning crafter and children of young ages. Make multiple versions with different colors and patterns to resemble bangles on your wrist.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure out 4 feet of string. Cut it with the scissors. Use this piece to measure out two more pieces with the two other colors. Fold three pieces of string in half and line up the loose ends. Tie the loose ends into a knot about 1 inch down from the end. Put the knot down on a hard surface and put a piece of tape around it.

    • 2

Separate the pieces of string into sections by color. Refer to each color group as one piece. Set them in a line as string 1, 2 and 3. Hold strings 1 and 2 in your left hand. Grab string 3 with your right hand and pull it out and then over strings 1 and 2. This should make the shape of the number 4. String 3 should now be hanging over strings 1 and 2.

    • 3

Pull the end of string 3 up through the center hole of your four shape. This creates a loop of string around strings 1 and 2. Pull string 3 out to the side until the loop goes to the top of the string. It should then hit the knot you made. Repeat this four more times.

    • 4

Hold pieces 1 and 3 in your hands and make the four shape by crossing piece 2. Pull piece 2 back up through the middle of the number 4 shape, creating a loop. Pull the string to the side until it hits the bottom of the pattern you made with string 1. Continue this four more times. Repeat this pattern, holding strings 2 and 3 and crossing string 1. Start the pattern over and continue until the length appears adequate.

    • 5

Test the bracelet by wrapping it around your wrist. If the pattern is long enough, tie knots at the end, and then to the beginning so it stays on the wrist. If the pattern is not long enough, continue with the pattern and test again.
