How to Get Rid of Vertical Ridges on Fingernails
Healthy nails are smooth and pleasant to feel, but sometimes cuticle damage or other environmental factors cause ridges that run from the cuticle to the tip. Sand your nails with a buffing block. Start with the grainiest side of the block and wipe it horizontally across your nails until they feel almost smooth. Slow down if your nails begin to feel hot or uncomfortable.

Blow off your nails to remove the excess grains of keratin. Sand your nails once again using the second grainiest setting on the sanding block. Sand until nails are completely free of ridges.

Buff your nails with a soft nail buffer after you clear away the excess grain caused by sanding. Buff each nail for up to 15 minutes to achieve the best results. Buff them until they shine and feel smooth and slippery.

Apply cuticle oil to your nail and cuticle to moisturize the area after sanding.
