How to Alter Matrices and Functions in MATLAB

MATLAB is an engineering software program that lets you perform complex computations and calculations. Matrix manipulation is one of the staples of MATLAB, and along with creating functions, matrices allow you to perform powerful calculations. Once a function or matrix has been typed out into MATLAB, you can edit it at any time. Doing so will affect any calculations below the matrix or function in the MATLAB file.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the MATLAB file whose matrices and functions you wish to alter.

    • 2

Double-click the matrix or function you want to edit to activate it, and place your cursor inside the matrix or function.

    • 3

Click or use the arrow keys to navigate to the portion of the matrix or function you want to edit, and alter it as required by deleting or adding information.

    • 4

Click outside of the matrix or function when finished to save the changes, then click the "Save" button to save the file.
